Ladybugs' Fly Fishing Club and other clubs volunteer to monitor Heenan and Red Lakes for abuse and vandalism
February 26, 2009 -- The Ladybugs Fly Fishing Club and a series of other clubs, concerned about the added pressure that Heenan and Red Lakes will sustain because of last year's draining of Caples Lake, has written a letter to the Alpine County Board of Supervisors, volunteering to provide oversight to these two popular trout fisheries. The letter states in part, "We as volunteers would be happy to help monitor the use of the site to see if less inappropriate behavior is going on... like less waste left, less illegal motor boating and mountain biking and camping, also watching those who are taking of too many fish." ...(Letter attached)
