Join the Sac-Sierra TU club for some "rockrolling" on Willow Creek, Folsom, this Saturday

August 20, 2009 -- Willow Creek is a beautiful little creek that runs through a greenbelt in Folsom. It contains a great variety of habitats harboring many different species of plants and animals, both native and non-native. Because of its urban setting, it also suffers from littering, and defacement of structures, and typical urban runoff containing nutrients, pesticides, and other contaminants.

As part of our conservation efforts, Sac-Sierra chapter members will be removing non-native invasive species and debris from the creek and parkway.

We have also been asked by Friends of Folsom Parkway to begin a habitat mapping and monitoring process to facilitate future educational course for local schools and wildlife tours.Volunteers will be meeting at 8:00AM at the Folsom Kids Play Area on Prewett Drive.
