DFG's Kokanee planting operation to receive continuing funding from Project Kokanee and Kokanee Power, two grass roots non-profit orgs: Ceremony September 24 in Rancho Cordova

September 10, 2008 -- Project Kokanee and Kokanee Power invite you to be a part of their presentation to the California Department of Fish and Game on September 24 at the American River Fish Hatchery, Rancho Cordova. The presentation represents the Project's contribution to support hatchery operations.  This event is being held to recognize the kick-off of the new support contracts that Project Kokanee, Kokanee Power and Department of Fish and Game have established to ensure the long term support of California’s kokanee fishery.  A lot of hard work, from the California Department of Fish and Game - as well as the dedication of members, supporters and sponsors of both kokanee groups resulted in this co-operative agreement.

Decreasing budgets and increasing demands upon the hatchery operations make this an opportune time for anglers to step up and show their continued support for our fisheries – as well as the men and women who work diligently to ensure the fisheries continued success.  The checks, that will be presented, are credible evidence that both fisheries groups are and continue to be dedicated to the long term support of the hatcheries and their operations.

Kokanee Power and Project Kokanee partner with the California Department of Fish and Game - to fund the continued planting of kokanee in California Lakes.  Both organizations are 501-c3 non-profit’s dedicated to enhancing the fisheries in Northern California.  For more information on either group, contact us on the web at:
